Stir-N-Up Hope is a Not-For-Profit organization that provides therapeutic riding sessions free of charge to handicapped and developmentally challenged children and adults. This past year, our program has been growing and changing and we are desperately in need of people to help.
To continue our mission and to keep this program available to the riders, volunteers are needed in a wide variety of areas.
Volunteers are needed to prepare a horse for class, lead the horse, and walk along side of the rider for safety. In addition to volunteers that help with the classes, we need people to help in a number of different areas such as document maintenance, fund raising, activity coordinators, grants committee help, facilities and equipment maintenance, and session scheduling.
To keep our horses trained and ready for classes, we need people to help exercise and work with our horses on days they are not being used for therapy sessions. Horse Exercisers need to have plenty of riding experience and be confident enough to catch and ride different horses.
Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older. Stir-N-Up Hope will teach you all you need to know in a 2 1/2 hour training workshop. It is a great way to exercise and have fun and guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Need Community Service Hours?
In addition to being part of this amazing organization, volunteering at Stir-N-Up Hope is a great way to obtain valuable community service time for things like scholarship applications or fullfilling National Honor Society requirements.
